jQuery is powerful javascript library. Almost all of our extensions are based on that library (Top Menu, HOT Image Slider, HOT Newsflash, HOT Joomla Gallery, HOT Joomla Carousel, Lightbox, Font resizer, more are coming...). However, many Joomla extensions from other providers use other libraries (mooTools or prototype).

Using them together on a page will probably make conflicts. As a result, some or all of your extensions would not work.

However, we have found a solution. Our Joomla extensions use "jQuery noConflict mode". Therefore, with our templates, beside our extensions, you can also use other extensions from other providers based on other libraries.

This template has support for 14 module positions. All module positions are collapsible. If no modules are published on some module positions, those module positions will automatically collapse.

Sparky framework allows you to add more module positions (if you need them) easily with user-friendly drag and drop technology. To check this, open template parameters and go to the Layout Designer tab.

Menu System

This template has a fast-loading jQuery based top menu with nested sub-menus. Sub-menu opens on mouse over action. Core Joomla files are not hacked. Various menu options are available for all menus that you create in Joomla. You can change colors, fonts, sizes and menu other parameters for each menu.

Sparky Framework supports several menu options, such as drop-down menu (like the top menu in this template), accordion menu, horizontal menu and classic Joomla menu. Each menu type has its own specific parameters and options.

Unlimited color options! Select colors and make your template unique! This is useful if you want to match the main template color with your company logo or brand. All our templates come with several pre-defined color schemes.

To get to the parameters in your Joomla Admin go to: Extensions > Template Manager and click on the template name. Beside many other parameters, here you can select colors. The template colors can be selected using a handy palette tool or entered manually in hexadecimal format (combination of 6 letters and numbers). If you don't have Photoshop, Fireworks or similar application, Color Combos can help you to find out the hexadecimal code of your color.

Change few options in template parameters and... Boom! You got template with completely new experience!

Newer versions of Joomla (after 1.6) have a nice new feature in template manager. It's possible to save multiple template styles! Do you need some articles of your website to stand out of the others? Here it comes our fully configurable, featured articles rotator, based on jQuery. In module parameters, you have control over module display. You can change module width, height, border, all colors. You can add internal or external link to each image in rotation. So, don't have to mention only articles from your site.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Open module parameters in Extensions > Module Manager > HOT Newsflash. You'll see that some default parameters are already there. However, you should change some of them to accomodate module for usage on your site.

• LOAD JQUERY: Select wheter to load jQuery library or not. If your template already loads it, you may disable this to avoid possible javascript errors.
• MODULE WIDTH: Overall module width. If you have border, overall width will be higher for border width (x2). Height of the module depends of images height (set this below).
• BACKGROUND COLOR: Background color of the text area in hexadecimal format (in example ffffff). You may use Color Blender to get values if you don't have software, such as Photoshop.
• BORDER WIDTH: Border width is numerical value in pixels. Type only number (in example 3).
• BORDER COLOR: Color of the border line in hexadecimal format (in example 000000).
• NUMBER OF ARTICLES: How many featured articles you'd like to show. Select number 1-5.
• DISPLAY READ MORE LINKS: Enable/disable "read more" links. They are not necessary as articles' headers are linked.
• READ MORE LINK TEXT: Text for "read more" links (if they are enabled above).
• TABS WIDTH: Width of the tabs that are used to rotate between articled. Height of the tabs are calculated automatically.
• TABS BACKGROUND COLOR (REGULAR, HOVER, ACTIVE): Color of the tabs' background in hexadecimal format.
• TABS FONT COLOR (REGULAR, HOVER, ACTIVE): Color of the tabs' font in hexadecimal format.
• FOLDER WHERE IMAGES ARE STORED: Type folder (relative to Joomla root) where your images are stored. Don't include leading or trailing slash (in example you may enter images/stories).
• WIDTH OF THE IMAGES: Self explanatory.
• HEIGHT OF THE IMAGES: Self explanatory. It also determines overall module height.
• HEADING OF ARTICLE: Please type heading of the article here.
• LINK TO ARTICLE PAGE: Please type link to the full article here, starting with http://. You can use internal or external links (internal link example http://www.yoursite.com/index.php, or external link http://www.google.com). If you don't type a link, heading and image would be displayed without link.
